
Results of research conducted during a period of three years since 2008 revealed products of 1,800 works of art of Balinese society was hijacked by foreigners, and among 600 handicraft products are being patented by foreign parties. Head of Industrial Office of Industry Bali, Ketut Darta said it was at opening of the Socialization of Intellectual Property Rights (HKI) in Perbekel Celuk Office, Sukawati district on Wednesday.
Ketut Darta said, hijacking more bigger craft products until 2011. This is due to the lack of public awareness in registering a copyright and trademark of craft products.
